MEET YOUR THERAPIST
MARY-MARGARET SWEENEY, MSW, LCSW, CST
Being trusted to do this work is one of my greatest joys; to help individuals and couples navigate intimacy challenges, sexual concerns, and relationship dynamics with compassion, and also, humor. With 20 years of experience in the sexual health field, I specialize in LGBTQ+ sexual health, menopausal and post-trauma sexual functioning, desire discrepancy in couples, and the impact of ADHD on sexuality. Sexuality is where we can seek our truest selves; sex therapy can help you summon that self into being.

SEXUAL WELL-BEING ISN'T A LUXURY - IT'S A VITAL PART OF LIVING FULLY & AUTHENTICALLY.

A little about me
When you work with me, I provide evidence-based clinical treatment toward resolving your concerns, while also prioritizing the creation of a warm and trusting working relationship. My practice draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Gottman couples work, and extensive psycho- and sex education. I believe in doing the hard work alongside my clients — living a value-aligned, intentional life. Outside of work, I am an avid hiker, weight lifting and Pilates fiend, obsessive reader of books, patron and participant of live theatre, and a lover of old houses, rescue dogs, and coffee. I am a proud dual citizen of the US and Poblacht na hÉireann (The Republic of Ireland) and travel as often as I can. I delight in stumbling across sexual health photo ops while doing so, such as this chair in the Erotic Museum of Barcelona!
