WHAT IS SEX THERAPY?

Sex therapy is talk therapy for sexual health — it does not involve any sexual contact with the therapist. Instead, it’s a holistic, biopsychosocial, structured approach to help you understand your sexuality, relationships, and patterns while building skills for a satisfying sex life. Certified sex therapists follow a strict code of ethics to ensure safety, trust, and professional boundaries. We explore what you learned about love, sex, gender, and relationships, honor your personal and cultural history, and address trauma or other life experiences that impact your sexual health.

AM I READY FOR SEX THERAPY?

Engaging in sex therapy is a personal decision and requires a commitment to deep inner work, trying new strategies, and practicing skills between sessions. New clients typically start with weekly or biweekly appointments, with 1–3 hours per week spent outside of therapy on exercises, communication strategies, journaling, or routines that support sexual health and intimacy. Change happens both in session and in daily life — and if your current schedule doesn’t allow this level of engagement, therapy will be ready when you are.
